Glen Innes soccer star Kelly Archibald is continuing to build on her experience with a strong performance in the national championships held in Coffs Harbour.
Archibald was one of nine selected to compete in the northern NSW girls under 17s side and returned last Saturday pleased with her performance.
“The team came seventh overall and I was happy with my performance. In the game against NSW metro I was named the player’s player,” she said.
“It is really good competition. It makes you lift the bar and step up against a higher level player.”
In the week long event the northern NSW team was successful in defeating Tasmania 5-1 and Victoria 4-2.
To be selected as the goalie for the team Archibald had to impress selectors at two trials earlier in the year in Armidale and Newcastle.
She has continued to demonstrate her enthusiasm and drive to succeed in the game this season travelling to Coffs Harbour every weekend to compete a high class of players in the women’s league there.
