Grob grabs CRL gold

10/07/2008 10:06:00 AM
Glen Innes rugby league player Tim Grob played as a part of the Group 19 under 16 junior rugby league team that competed at Muswellbrook on the weekend and won the Country Rugby League Junior Championship Under 16 plate division.

Group 19 defeated Group 14 in the championship final to the tune of 46-4. This is the best result for a Group 19 junior league side for 20 years, and the boys will be rewarded with a special presentation at Inverell at the end of the month.

Tim has also been invited to attend the Greater Northern Academy trials in Tamworth later in the year if he wishes to pursue football to a higher level. Because of this rep game the round of under 16 games from last weekend have been rescheduled for Saturday July 19 and Glen Innes will play at Uralla, the playing time will be advised.
