The first meeting of the new committee was held this week with all signs pointing to another good year. The 08/09 championships are starting with the men’s fours being the first to open up for nominations which will close on August 24, closely followed by the major singles. This coming Sunday there is a charity bowls fun day to aid the Westpac Helicopter Service being run with a barbecue and bowls open to any person or child wishing to play. Flat sole shoes or bare feet are allowed so come along and enjoy some friendly sport, meet new people and help support a good cause. Start time is 9.30am.

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
