Season touches off tonight

The 2008/09 touch football season commences tonight with the mixed competition and Thursday night with the Men and Womens competition.

All teams must have all members to complete their registration forms and will not be eligible to take the field until this is done.The kiosk will be open from 5.30pm for players to sign their forms, if you are under the age of eighteen you need to fill in a memeber registration form and have your parent/guardian to sign before you take the field. If you are found on the field without completing these forms you will be pulled off the field until this has been carried out.

Games will commence strictly at 6.00pm and 6.45pm, if your team has not taken the field in the first five minutes, the opposing side will gain one point each minute your late after the first five minutes.

Draws for all competitions are available online at www.sportingpulse.com, or google ‘Glen Innes Touch’. Competition draws go up till when the competition will be divided into grades.

Once again all teams must duty, those that fail to duty will lose three points. All players are asked to respect the referee, any player found or reported disrepecting the referree will be asked to leave the field, if reported twice you will be unable to commence playing until you have faced the comittee, at the next committee meeting. Abusing referrees will not be tolerated.

The points system is three points for a win, two for a draw, one for a loss, three for a bye and none for a forfeit. If your team forfeits three times you will not be eligible to play in the finals.

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
