19/08/2008 10:40:00 AM
Two local martial artists Mark and Nick Crisp recently returned from the birthplace of martial arts Okinawa, Japan.

The duo were a part of an Australian contingent for an eight day international training camp. They met up with martial artists from all over the world and trained under some of the worlds leading masters.

The father and son combination are both members of Jin Ryu Kan Martial arts organisation under chief instructor Nick King (5th dan), who also attended along with Charlie Campbell of Inverell.

The seminars and training sessions were conducted by the chairman of world Koshiki Karate Federation, (Hanshi) Masayuki Kukan Histaka (9th dan) who put everyone through an intense eight-day program, being 12 hours in duration some days.

“This was an opportunity of a lifetime,” Mark Crisp said.
