The final of the men’s fours was played on Saturday.

Max Chalkley, John Lee, Nev Masters and Jack Nay beat Joe Hannah, Billy Dawson, Col Dawson and Denis Williams 21-18 in a tight game.

In the minor pairs, the first round saw Rob Rees and Ray Zahn beat Eric Davidson and Ray Brown 21-20, Joe Hannah and Andrew Fenton beat Paul Ross and Peter Ross 21-9, Trevor Pevy and Billy Newberry beat Les Bushell and Kevin Roby 22-16, Andrew Lee and John Lee beat Nick Ellem and Alan Beehag 21-10.

Callings for Saturday T Pevy and B Newberry v R Rees and R Zahn, Sunday morning J Hannah and A Fenton v A Lee and J Lee.

Nominations close on Saturday November 22 at 5pm for mixed pairs and men’s triples. The nomination box is in the games room so get your nominations in on time. The first callings will be on Saturday November 29 and Sunday November 30.

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
