Local boxer’s Bea Roberts and Brandon Levy have taken home golden gloves following the National golden glove titles held in Caboolture, QLD on Saturday.

The titles comprised of teams from England, New Zealand and Fiji. 167 fights took place that saw the introduction of the Australian Boxing Association (ABA) computer scoring system.

14-year-old Levy, who has fought in just three matches all wins, took on Bunderburg fighter Damien Burger, who was competing in his sixth fight. The Queenslander didn’t lay a glove on Levy as he easily won the fight 8-0.

“It’s the first time a boxer hasn’t scored a point in my career,” former trainer now manager Cliff Rowe said.

Meanwhile 12 year old Roberts won her first fight against Caboolture local Grace Pewsnap.

With over 200 fights under their belt, Scott Rowe and Leni Lawler have taken over from Cliff Rowe as trainers. The boxer’s now train at the Club Hotel’s ‘Blue Room’.
