Glen Innes Public School students were cross for all the right reasons on Friday.
Students across all grades banded together and lifted red sheets of paper above their heads to create a huge red cross in the school grounds to raise funds for the Glen Innes Red Cross.
Each of the students were asked to donate one dollar to be a part of the cross, which raised $360.
Teacher Judi Toms coordinated the formation of the cross and said the school has a regular association with the Red Cross.
“We have an annual fundraiser because we have a Junior Red Cross (branch) in the school. Previously we raised funds in a number of ways like getting the kids to wear a red shirt to school for a donation but we decided to make a cross this year.
“ One of the Red Cross members comes to the school for the meetings and everything that was raised from the day will go into the funds of the local Red Cross,” she said.
School principal Robyn Stewart can be seen standing at the centre of the cross.
